Who would benefit from life coaching?

My clients recognize that they are ready to move forward with their lives.  They often sense that something is missing, but need help figuring out what that is.  There may also be a lot of self-imposed obstacles that they just haven’t been able to conquer on their own.  These individuals are often successful by outside standards, but they may be uncertain of what they want next.

If this describes you, perhaps you would benefit from life coaching.  A life coach can help provide the structure, support, and accountability that will help you attain your dreams and fulfill your potential.

How could a life coach help you?

As a life coach, I support my clients through all sorts of life changes and challenges.  These range from career changes to the challenges of a relationship.

A life coach can provide an objective “sounding board” whom you can use to help clarify your life.  By working constructively with someone who is only interested in how to help you be the effective and happy person you are meant to be, you can make real progress in achieving your goals.  You may start to see things in a way that you never have before, or you may finally have the courage and energy to address something that has been holding you in place or even dragging you down.

How does life coaching differ from therapy?

People often ask if “life coach” is simply another term for a psychotherapist.  It is not.  There are meaningful differences between coaching and therapy.

Perhaps the central difference is this:  Life coaching is forward looking, focusing on the desired outcome.  In coaching, the power comes from really taking a deep look at the client’s life and deciding where to go from there.  Therapy focuses on the issues that the person has developed and has not been able to move past without professional help.  It usually involves looking deep into past experiences and emotions and allowing the client to heal from there.

If you need help moving forward and are looking to create your life the way you want it, then life coaching is for you.  If you feel like there are issues from the past that still need to be resolved before you can move forward, then you might want to consider therapy.

How long does working with a life coach take?

Generally, I like to suggest that a client remain in the coaching relationship for three months to really start seeing the results.  This being said, if you are with a coach and do not feel yourself moving forward at all, then you should see if there are any other options that you need to explore.

Life coaching is very individualized – clients have had good results with my style of coaching, but there are many styles out there, and you need to find the one that works best for you.

Clients generally work with me for three to six months on a specific challenge.  Other clients continue to see added value to their lives, and therefore decide to continue with coaching for longer periods because they see it as a way to stay in tune with their goals.

The process of setting and achieving goals is very individualized, and many people work towards them faster and with more energy when they have someone whom they can count on to keep them on track.

If I decided to hire you as a life coach, what benefits can I expect?

Every client gets something different out of life coaching.  Many find the energy that they have been lacking to move forward in their professional and personal lives.  They find that through the coaching process, they become very clear about what they want, and they now feel empowered to go after their goals with focus and tenacity.  They are propelled to go after what they have always wanted, no longer held back by fear and rationalization.

What are some of the challenges that your clients seek to address?

Here are some of the (very common) issues that clients have sought to resolve through coaching:

•  They are stuck in a job that they don’t have passion for.
•  They are unsure of where they are going in a personal relationship.
•  They are unsure of what they truly want in their lives, but know that         there is something greater out there for them.
•  They want to feel empowered to make the changes that they have been     struggling with on their own.
•  They need to discuss their challenges and aspirations with an objective     guide who is totally committed to helping them succeed.
•  They are looking to tweak their life so that it is the best that it can be.

How can I know exactly what is keeping me from moving
forward?
I have set up a free five-minute quiz that you can take to help you define and prioritize your goals.
Please feel free to take it. (Don’t worry, it’s not graded!) At the end, you will
have the option of automatically sending your results to me. If you choose to
have your results sent to me, I would be happy to go over them with you,
either on the phone or by email, to help you gain clarity on your next steps.

I'm sorry, due to technical difficulties, the quiz is down for the time being.
